INSTRUCTIONAL GRAPHIC
COMMISSION

2025, Freelance
Delivered: Instructional graphic

In early 2025, I was contacted by Kimberly Ellis, PhD, to help with the digital rendering of an instructional graphic that she and her group needed as part of a convergent project that they were submitting to the National Science Foundation.

I was provided an original outline for various elements that needed to be included and the general layout desired.

I appreciated the new challenge this project presented in finding a balance between making the graphic both visually engaging and, above all else, clear and readable.

This diagram relates to the construction of new water systems infrastructure, so naturally I thought it would be fitting to add water elements to the graphic. Namely the droplets at the top, as well as the piping at the bottom.

After submitting my first draft, I received a very detailed revisions request which, in addition to some further requests made via email, I used to create the final version of this graphic.
